Regenerative Farming | Kenya

The farm layout is split into a number of enterprises:

 

• The Agroforestry Market Garden currently consists of half an acre of growing space with over 80 varieties of integrated fruit, vegetable, herb, native and timber tree species. The layout of the beds is based on the Brazilian technique of “syntropy”, an elegant solution applicable to any land owner in any climate, which provides a balance of conservation, aesthetics and profit. 

 

The annual produce from this section goes into our weekly vegetable box deliveries.

 

Currently this section contains the following species:

 

Bean varieties – Lettuce varieties – Herb varieties – Artichoke – Broccoli – Cauliflower – Carrot – Squash – Pumpkin – Beetroot -  Radish varieties -  Chia – Maize – Brussel Sprouts – Kale varieties – Cucumber – Garlic – Ginger – Tumeric – Lemon grass – Onion – Pak Choi – Sweet Potato – Heirloom Tomato varieties – Sorghum – Courgette – Butternut – Pomegranate – Avocado – Coffee – Citrus – Goji berry – Banana – Passion – Tree tomato – African redwood – Elgon teak – Silver oak – New Zealand pine – Eucalyptus – African cherry – African juniper  - Podocarpus – Apples – Plums – Mediterranean fig – and many more.

• Our Cash Crops include Miraa, Blueberries, Gooseberries, Passion, Pepino melons and more, depending on season.

 

• Various Livestock demonstrations include pasture raised layers in egg mobiles; rotational high intensity non selective grazing of sheep. 

• Located at the heart of the farm, the Training & Educational Center offers visitors, and workshop participants a place to sit, learn, cook and sleep. We also offer an apprenticeship program for local and foreign individuals and host regular trainings and events.
